PUBLIC NOTICE
BEDFORD BOROUGH COUNCIL
(HARROWDEN LANE, BEDFORD ROAD AND THE GREEN, CARDINGTON)
(PROHIBITION OF WAITING) ORDER 2020

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on 23rd September 2020 Bedford Borough Council
made the above Traffic Regulation Order, the effect of which is detailed below:-

Effect of the Order:

1. To introduce ‘No waiting at any time’ restrictions (double yellow lines) on
the following lengths of road:
A Harrowden Lane, Cardington
(i) On its southernmost kerb, from Bedford Road to a point 17 metres southwest
of Bedford Road.
B Bedford Road, Cardington
(i) On its westernmost kerb, from the southernmost kerb of Harrowden Lane to a
point 30 metres southeast of the southernmost kerb of Harrowden Lane.
(ii) On its easternmost kerb, extending from the southernmost point of ‘The Kings
Arms’ pub car park entrance for a distance of 9.5 metres in a generally southeasterly direction.
C The Green, Cardington
(i) Starting from the westernmost point where it meets Bedford Road and
continuing around the corner of The Green in an easterly, then northerly, and
then north-westerly direction for a distance of 15 metres.
(ii) On its easternmost kerb, extending from the northernmost point of ‘The Kings
Arms’ pub car park entrance for a distance of 20 metres in a north-westerly
direction.
Date of Operation: This Order will come into force on 25th September 2020 or as
soon as practicable after this date.
A copy of the Order may be examined during normal office hours at Borough Hall,
Cauldwell Street, Bedford, MK42 9AP. It can also be viewed on the Council’s website
at www.bedford.gov.uk/implemented.
High Court Challenge: Any person who desires to question the validity of this Order
or any provision contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the powers
conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or on the grounds that any
requirement of that Act has not been complied with in relation to the Order may,
within six weeks of the date of this Notice, make application for that purpose to the
High Court.
